FAQ
All USB-C ports on Omnicharge products support USB Power Delivery. USB Power Delivery (or PD, for short) is a unified charging standard that can be used all across USB-C devices. Normally, each device is charged with its own adapter, but with USB-PD, one universal USB-C adapter will be able to power a wide variety of different devices including laptops, tablets, phones and more. USB PD uses voltage profiles that are standardized across PD compatible devices.
Not all USB-C devices use USB PD, but this is mostly a problem with older USB-C devices. Most modern USB-C devices are compatible with USB PD.
Both the barrel port and the USB-C port on the Omni 20+ operate on the same circuit, and can therefore not pass-through charge between them or operate at the same time. Pass-through charging on the Omni 20+ only functions with input from the USB-C or barrel port, and output to the USB-A, Wireless, or AC ports. For pass-through charging to a laptop, we recommend inputting from the barrel or USB-C port and outputting from the AC port.
1: Make sure your device supports Qi wireless charging. If not, an extra Qi wireless dongle is required.
Scan the QR code below and it will show you whether your device supports Qi wireless charging.
2: Turn ON USB Output and Wireless Charging
Wireless charging is activated anytime USB-A charging is ON. Remember to press the USB-A button to activate. To set USB-A to be turned on by default enter the menu, and select the USB option.
You will see a flashing wireless icon when the phone has been detected.
3: Find the optimal charging position.
You know you have found the optimal Qi wireless position when the output power reaches 7 ~ 10 Watts. Please fine-tune your phone's position if it's only charging around 4 Watts or less.
Note: The range of the optimal charging area varies depending on the size of the receiver coil of your phone. Some phone models have small receiver coils and can experience sudden interruptions after few seconds of charging. This is because of minor alignment deviations between the transmitter and receiver coil. Please fine-tune your phone's position until it gets stable wireless charging, or use a separate Qi receiver with a larger receiver coil.
DC output allows you to charge your laptop directly from the Omni 20's barrel port. Omni 20 uses the same port for both input and output, and you will need to active DC output in the menu first to use this feature. This is a more lightweight and battery efficient way to charge your laptop.
Instructions:
1. First make sure you know the correct output voltage to use (WARNING: choose the wrong voltage can harm your device!). If you already know what you are doing, jump to Step 4. Read on if not.
2. To learn the correct DC voltage, find the Tech Specs Label on the AC power adapter(charger) of your device.
3. Find the 'Output' field on the Tech Specs label, this is the correct DC voltage you're looking for.
For example, 13'' MacBook Air: 14.9V DC
Mid-2015 13'' Retina MacBook Pro: 16.5V DC
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon: 20V DC
HP Pavilion: 19.5V DC
Dell XPS 13: 19.5V DC
4. Now that you have got the correct output voltage, it's time to set up your Omnicharge: Double press the Power Button entering the menu and choose DC OUT
5. Choose the voltage and amperage among 4 sets of preset voltages. Confirm the setting by pressing the Power Button.
6. Omnicharge keeps 4 sets of presets. To change the preset, press and hold the power button.
7. Double confirm the voltage. Incorrect setting may harm your device!
* When changing a DC output voltage higher than 20V to a voltage under 10V, it is recommended that you wait up to 1 min before connecting the DC cable to your device.
8. Exit the menu, you can see the DC icon and the designated voltage on the screen.
9. Now plug and play!

FAA battery guidelines
In most cases, laptops require a minimum wattage in order to accept a charge from a USB-C source. Modern laptops generally conform to USB power delivery standards (USB PD), which is a uniform standard of charging. To determine what USB PD voltages your laptop is compatible with, you should be able to check underneath your laptop, to see which PD voltages it supports. Most laptops will require a minimum of 20-30W to initiate charging and can draw as much as 100W through USB-C.
The Omni 20+, Omni 20c+, Omni Ultimate, Omni Mobile 12,800, and Omni Mobile 25,600 all conform to USB-PD standards, and can provide up to 60W output, which is enough to charge all but the most high powered USB-C laptops. The Omni 20c+ can output up to 100W from one of the ports and can power high powered USB-C laptops like the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro, and the latest 16" MacBook Pro.
The Omni 20-C can also be used as a USB hub for your USB peripherals. Turn one USB-C port into 3 different ports for your smartphones, flash drives, mouse or cameras.
1. Connect the USB-C/HUB port (on the right side) to a USB-C port on your laptop.
2. Initiate HUB mode by short pressing the HUB button (bottom button), and a HUB icon will appear on the screen. The secondary USB-C port (left side) and the 2 USB-A ports can be used to transfer files from smartphones, flash drives, cameras or other standard USB-A or USB-C devices.
This question is rather complicated since your laptop's power consumption fluctuates a lot depending on if you're gaming or simply browsing the Internet on the laptop. This affects the time and percentage Omnicharge can charge your laptop.
So to simplify the question, we use a more objective method by comparing Omnicharge's battery capacity to the laptop's internal battery capacity. Also considering the efficiency loss of Omnicharge's conversion circuits, the equation of charge percentage is:
Omnicharge's battery capacity / laptop's internal battery capacity * Omnicharge's conversion circuits efficiency
Take the Omni 20c+ and 15'' MacBook Pro (2019 model) for example, the Omni 20c has a 71Wh capacity; the 15'' MBP has an 83.6Wh internal battery; the Omnicharges conversion efficiency is around 90%. Put these numbers in the above equation and we get:
71Wh / 83.6Wh * 90% = 0.76
This means that the Omnicharge can charge the 15'' MBP around 76%. This is assuming that the laptop is turned off or in sleep mode. Operating the laptop while charging will impact this calculation.

FAQ
Your Ultimate is most likely in lock mode. This is a feature that prevents the screen from displaying anything, and will not allow any button presses while still outputting power.
To enable lock mode, make sure your Ultimate is powered on and hold down the AC output button for 5 seconds.
To disable lock mode, hold down the AC output button for 5 seconds.
Also considering the efficiency loss of both Omnicharge's conversion circuits and the laptop's power adaptor, the equation of charge percentage is:
Omnicharge's battery capacity / laptop's internal battery capacity * Omnicharge's conversion circuits efficiency * laptop's power supply efficiency
Take the Ultimate and 15'' MacBook Pro (2019 model) for example, Omni 20 has 142Wh capacity; 15'' MBP has an 83.6Wh internal battery; both the Ultimates conversion efficiency and 15'' MBP's power supply efficiency is around 90%. Put these numbers in the above equation and we get:
142Wh / 83.6Wh * 90% * 90% = 1.38
This means that the Ultimate can charge the 15'' MBP around 1.4 times. This calculation accounts for the laptop being turned off or in sleep mode. Operating the laptop while charging will impact this calculation.
----------------------------
USB-C output:
One of the advantages of the USB-C output is that you don't need to suffer from the laptop power supply's efficiency loss. And the above equation becomes:
Omnicharge's battery capacity / laptop's internal battery capacity * Omnicharge's conversion circuits efficiency
Again take the Ultimate and 15'' MacBook Pro for example:
142Wh / 83.6Wh * 90% = 1.53
This means that the Ultimate can charge up 15'' MBP for around 1.5 times. That's 10% more compared to charging from the AC outlet!
Omnicharge is smart, but sometimes it can be too smart. To save standby power consumption, Omnicharge's Auto Shut Off function will turn off the Omnicharge when the current drawn is lower than a designated threshold. The problem with your Bluetooth headset (or other small gadgets) is that it has a small battery inside and only requires very small current to charge.
You can disable this feature by choosing NEVER in the 'Auto Shut-off' menu:
a) Double press the Power Button entering the menu, and choose AUTO SHUT OFF
b) Choose NEVER
NOTE: Remember to turn the 'Auto Shut-off' function back on afterward so that your Omnicharge won't consume power when in standby mode.
Omnicharge is very versatile in its options for charging and can be charged by portable solar panels via USB or unregulated DC solar power.
Most solar panels provide a USB outlet that you can use with Omnicharge's USB charging cable.
Some solar chargers also provide an unregulated DC outlet, this is the most efficient way to charge your Omnicharge through solar via Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT). The Omni 20, and Ultimate can charge at up to 45W and 90W respectively (depending on the wattage rating of your solar panel and actual weather conditions). You may need an adapter tip to be able to connect with your Omnicharges barrel input port.

FAQ
For optimal wireless charging conditions, align your phone horizontally with the back edge of the Omnicharge. In some cases, phone cases might interfere with the charging speed. If you are experiencing slow wireless charging speeds, try to remove the protective case from your phone.

Take the Omni Mobile 25,600 and the 15'' MacBook Pro (2019 model), the Mobile 25,600 has a 92Wh capacity and the 15'' MBP has an 83.6Wh internal battery; the Omnicharges conversion efficiency is around 90%. Put these numbers in the above equation and we get:
92Wh / 83.6Wh * 90% = 0.99
This means that the Omnicharge can charge the 15'' MBP around 1 time, effectively doubling your laptop battery life. This is assuming that the laptop is turned off or in sleep mode. Operating the laptop while charging will impact this calculation. The equation will be the same for both the DC output and the USB-C output, as these have very similar conversion efficiencies.
Remember that you might get significantly different results in real life. Let's say that your laptop battery is already fully charged, and you are only using the Omnicharge to extend the battery life. Since the laptop battery is already full, the power draw will be significantly lower, which also means that the Omnicharge will output less heat, and will, therefore, have higher efficiency.
The DC output mode of the Mobile 25,600 allows you to directly charge your device without the need for a charging brick. Make sure that your device supports one of the 4 preset voltages before use (12V/16V/19V/24V).
To start outputting power from the DC port, first double press the power button to enter the voltage selection mode. The LED indicator should now start blinking.
From here you can single press the power button, and you will see the LED indicator cycle through the 4 available voltage presets. When the LED indicator is on the desired voltage, you can single press the power button to start outputting the selected voltage. You can now plug the DC output cable between the Omnicharge and your device.
The first step in all troubleshooting on Omnicharge products is to attempt a full calibration of the unit. This is done by first depleting the battery until it shuts itself off, followed by an overnight charge.
If you are having trouble recharging your Omnicharge, first try to use a different charging cable and a different AC adapter. You can try using the charger from for example a phone or tablet to recharge the Omnicharge. You can also try charging from the barrel port on the Omnicharge. This is a 5.5 x 2.1mm port, which is a very common standard.
If you are still unable to recharge, try charging the Omni overnight, as this might be caused by over depletion of the battery cells. This should only occur if the Omnicharge has been left in a depleted state for an extended period of time. This process has been known to be successful in some cases after multiple attempts. If it does not work after the first attempt, unplug the charger, wait 5 minutes and plug it back in for an additional charging attempt.
Note: Remember to charge your Omnicharge periodically when not in use. We recommend fully charging every 3-4 months.

This question is rather complicated since your laptop's power consumption fluctuates a lot depending on if you're gaming or simply browsing the Internet on the laptop. This affects the time and percentage Omnicharge can charge your laptop. Remember, this is a small pocket-sized power bank, and laptop charging expectations should be set accordingly, as laptop batteries will often be significantly larger. The Mobile 12,800 is primarily designed to be a portable power bank, which has the ability to charge laptops. While laptop charging is not the primary function of the battery, it is great for topping up the laptop battery.
Take the Omni Mobile 12,800 and the 13'' MacBook air (2019 model), the Mobile 12,800 has a 46Wh capacity and the 13'' MacBook Air has a 49.9Wh internal battery; the Omnicharges conversion efficiency is around 90%. Put these numbers in the above equation and we get:
46Wh / 49.9Wh * 90% = 0.83
This means that the Omnicharge can charge the 13'' MacBook Air around 83%. This is assuming that the laptop is turned off or in sleep mode. Operating the laptop while charging will impact this calculation.
USB-C Output
USB-C on the mobile 12,800 is primarily plug and play. Just make sure that the Omnicharge is switched on before connecting the USB-C cable. First, connect the USB-C cable to the Omnicharge, before plugging it into your device. If the device does not start charging within 10 seconds, pull the USB-C cable in and out of your device. If you are still having trouble, try using a different cable.
Note: On PixelBooks and Chromebooks, you will receive a prompt at the bottom right of your screen, asking if you want to charge from this source. The laptop will not start charging until you accept this prompt.
Charging from the USB-C port
Recharging the Omnicharge from the USB-C port is also plug and play. If you plug in a regular USB-C charger, the Omnicharge should detect this as a power source, and accept the power input. In some cases, if you want to recharge the Omnicharge from for example your laptop, the Omnicharge might have trouble negotiating which direction the power should go. In this case, first turn off your Omnicharge, before connecting the cable. If you wish to utilize pass-through charging, wait 15 seconds before turning the Omnicharge back on.
The first step in all troubleshooting on Omnicharge products is to attempt a full calibration of the unit. This is done by first depleting the battery until it shuts itself off, followed by an overnight charge.

FAQ
The Omni Power Station can be used in two different configurations. In this article, we will review these configurations and recommended setups.
Power Station without cloud software
If you have purchased the power station without a subscription, you can only use it in unlocked mode. This means that the units won't be locked and should only be accessible to trusted people. In this configuration, you cannot use the Omnicharge app or Smart Center dashboard.
Best suited for:
- Small teams where managing who uses the chargers isn't important.
- If you already have a system for managing asset rentals and checkouts.
Power Station with cloud software
If you have purchased the power station and cloud software subscription, you can change the operating mode to locked. This allows you to leave the power station unmonitored and manage checkouts through the Smart Center dashboard. In locked mode, users will need to use the Omnicharge app to check out a unit
Best suited for:
- Larger deployments where you need an automated management system.
The Omni Cloud Service is a system that helps you manage your power stations. It allows you to automate the checkout of your chargers through the use of the Omnicharge app. The checkout operates through Bluetooth and wifi and doesn't require any additional equipment apart from the power station.
The Cloud service is managed through the Omnicharge Smart Center. Here you can adjust the operating modes of your chargers, monitor their usage, and manage overdue checkouts.
You can read more about the cloud service here.
Chargers not charging
- Check that all the chargers are properly seated in the power station.
- Check that the power cable is properly connected and the power switch is in the on position.
- If only some of the chargers aren't charging try switching the position of the chargers to determine if you have a faulty charger.
- If you determine that the charger is at fault, you can follow this guide for help with troubleshooting.
Station Offline
If you are having trouble connecting your Power Station to the internet you can try the following troubleshooting steps. If you need help connecting your power station for the first time, you can read this article.
- Turn the power station off and on using the power switch on the back.
- Make sure the power cable is still connected to power.
- Check the Smart Center to see when the power station went offline, this might help you narrow things down a little.
- If it is set up on wifi, check that the same wifi network is still available with good coverage of the power station.
- If it is set up on cable, you will need to check the port and cable to see that it is still live.
- There is nothing fancy about how the power station connects to the internet and uses standard DHCP. In some cases, you might need to check your organization's network configuration. If it is deployed in a larger organization, you might need to involve the network team to make sure that the MAC address of the station is permitted to access the internet.
- Ethernet MAC adress: b8:27:eb:XX:XX:XX where the X's are the last 6 digits of the PI ID. (How to find the PI ID)
- The Wifi MAC address can be found in the wifi setup process on the smart center
