Ambassador Spotlight:
Simon Bergström
Photographer
“I don't even look for outlets in coffee shops anymore.“
Simon Bergström is a photographer and explorer. Based in Sweden, he loves taking to the open road in search of great views and memories that will stay with him for a lifetime.
He's hiked the islands of Lofoten in northern Norway, the Quiraing Walk on Scotland's Isle of Skye, and Verdon Gorge in France. He's watched birds of prey soar off the sides of mountains and viewed a sunset from a mountain peak.
And through it all, he's had his camera by his side.
Capturing the Moment
Simon became a photographer to freeze memories in time. He loves looking at a photo that he shot a year, two years, or even 10 years ago and feeling the memories come rushing back, as fresh as the day he took them.
Seeking to avoid an indoor office life, Simon dedicated his career to photography at the age of 28. Since then, he's spent much of his time on the road, looking for moments he can share with the world.
He takes still photos and videos, choosing the medium that best suits the moment. He hopes to inspire people to escape their comfort zones and seek out their own adventures.
"There's so much out there," he marveled. "We're meant to explore as much of it as we can, I think."
Irreplaceable Memories
Simon depends on his camera to fully capture the moment and all of its details, from the shifting light to the nuances of the landscape. He needs his devices to work the first time.
He recalls a trip he took with a friend and colleague. They traveled across Europe in November, choosing a route through Germany to avoid the Swedish snowstorms.
The snow followed them to Germany, though, bringing dark skies in a season of shortening days. It became harder and harder to rely on the solar panels on their self-built van.
One day, Simon was editing a video on his laptop, when the power cut out. The laptop's battery was malfunctioning and lost power after a few minutes. By the time he found a power source, the damage was done. The computer had shut down too abruptly, and he had lost his work.
Staying Powered Up With Omnicharge
Simon learned his lesson. In the summer of 2022, while planning a trip that involved living out of his car for a week, he decided it was time for a better solution. When he found the Omni 20+, Simon knew it was exactly what he needed. Omnicharge’s solution was portable enough to bring along on hikes and photo shoots.
"I do 90% of my work on an iPad Pro with the keyboard case and Apple Pencil, which drains the battery pretty hard," Simon explained. "My Omni 20+ comes in handy when I'm on the field or in a coffee shop. I don't even look for outlets in coffee shops anymore!"
The Omni 20+ would let Simon travel light, but it had enough power and versatility to charge all of his devices. He loved that he could grab it and go, whatever his plans for the day might be.
